Authentic Nepalese Cuisine

Nepal, a small beautiful country in South Asia, lies tucked on the southern slope of the Himalayas, between two Asian giants, China and India, traditionally has been characterized as ‘a yam caught between two rocks’. The country is famous for the mighty Himalayas, astonishing geographic beauty, blessed with rich cultural heritages, tuned with unique musical instruments and melodies, and bound with multi-language and ethnic diversity. And the only national flag in the world that is not rectangle or square.

Nepalese food varieties are relatively mild spicy and nutritious. Dal-Bhat-Tarkari (lentil soup, boiled rice and curried vegetable) is the all time favourite food of Nepal. Momo (dumpling), meat curries and organic tea/coffee are also widely popular. Nepal is well known for the birth place of Buddha, world’s highest mountain ‘Mount Everest’ and the homeland of famous Gurkhas. “Gorkha” is the name of the town and the district in Nepal from here these fearless tribes hailed. The British called them Gurkhas when they were inducted into the British Army in 1800s. They became famous as no fighting force has ever earned so much respect for its valour and discipline.

The name of the restaurant “ Everest Gurkha Nepalese Restaurant“ derived with the combination of those two great names.

We are a small family-run business dedicated to bring typical flavour of Nepalese cuisine with homemade original spices and organic products from the Himalayan foothills.
